Many Disability Program Navigators (D.P.N.s) are working with programs that serve youth with disabilities. Whether it be the connection with youth services within the One-Stop Career Center, the local Workforce Investment Board’s Youth Council, the High School High Tech program, school transition programs, etc., D.P.N.s are reaching out to connect youth with disabilities to the workforce development and one-stop system. The Employment Assistance & Recruiting Network (EARN), which is a free service that connects employers looking for quality employees with skilled job candidates, has compiled a fact sheet that provides a list of programs and resources to assist students with disabilities in gaining valuable work experience and refining career choices before graduation. The fact sheet includes a list of various work-based experiences and/or internship opportunities for middle school, high school and college students with disabilities.
